    • About Me:

      I live in Maynooth and get to work as a health researcher every day. Some days I teach at the university and work at a charity that helps parents make the right health choices for their children. For fun, I love to ride my bike and bake cakes from scratch.

    • My Work:

      My current work is about improving health and helping people use technology to find support to keep them happy. I also worked as a doctor for a couple of years before taking an interest in helping people have better mental health.

    • My Typical Day:

      I don’t have a typical day.

      Some days, I am designing projects that study how people are feeling. That might involve writing a proposal to show how that project will be helpful, and get the relevant approval.

      At other times, I talk with people who have a life-long illness, to understand important aspects of their lives.

      Then I might think about how best to capture the information I have gotten. Sometimes I write reports, or I might present my findings in a talk with other scientists, patient groups, or the government

    • What I'd do with the prize money:

      I’d spend it sponsoring the annual Pint of Science event in Ireland.

      Pint of Science brings together communities and researchers in various science disciplines in a friendly atmosphere like a pub or cafe, so people can learn about new and ongoing research.

      Discussions could feature research about space, advanced communication, self-driving cars, health, and other interesting subjects.

      Its usually a great day or two around Ireland, and it’s a great way for everyone to participate in enriching what we know about ourselves and the planet.

        Sometimes I was. I got to school late and skipped a few classes.

        I'd be a baker or I'd be a microbiologist

        Coldplay

        Meatballs and spagetti

        What is the most fun thing you've done?

        Developed some animation

        If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!

        I'd go to paris and eat a lot of pastries; I'd go sky diving, and I'd live on a beach
